With our wide variety of jacket printing options, Furnace aims to be your one-stop source for vinyl record pressing.  And with the majority of our printing and fabricating done in-house, we are able to offer some of the quickest turns in the industry. We also offer a whole host of customization options such as a variety of paperboard stocks, reverse board printing, matte and UV finishes, foil stamping, die-cutting, custom dies and templates, embossing/debossing, PMS spot colors, silk-screening, spot UV graphics, serialization, foil stamp hand numbering and the list goes on.

 12” Jackets:

Direct to Board Single Jacket: The most popular of our vinyl record jackets, this option is a single pocket design with a 3mm side spine. It can comfortably hold a single 12” record of any weight (125, 140 or 180g) or two 125g records. Spine modifications can be made to make this hold two 140 or 180g records.

Our single pocket jackets are printed on hefty 20pt paperboard and come standard with a semi-gloss aqueous coating (see note above for other finish and customization options).

Direct to Board Gatefold Jacket: The obvious choice when you’re looking to spread out. The gatefold jacket provide a large swath of graphic design area as well as offering one or two pockets for multiple record sets.

Our gatefold jackets are printed on hefty 18pt paperboard and come standard with a semi-gloss aqueous coating (see note above for other finish and customization options).

“Old-School” Case-Wrapped Jackets: This is the way they made jackets in the “olden days.” Before the printing press could print on thick paperboard stock they used to take printed paper sheets and wrap and glue them around thick chipboard shells. Also known as turned edge packaging, this is most commonly found on game board boxes such as that game of Monopoly you used to play as a kid.

These jackets are still made the same way they were back in the 50s and 60s, albeit with a little more accuracy and much better printing capability.  These jackets are slow to make and more expensive than a standard jacket but are fast becoming the norm for audiophile and special edition releases.

Furnace offers a single jacket as well as one and two pocket gatefold versions. All are printed with 80lb wraps over 24pt chipboard. Call us for custom option information and lead time.

Printed Inner Sleeve: A nice upgrade from the simple lyric sheet. Printed sleeves are made to snugly fit your 12” vinyl records and replace a standard dust sleeve. Our 12” inner sleeve is printed onto 100lb semi-gloss or uncoated paper stock. Note: Furnace strongly suggests to package inner sleeves like you would an insert - without the vinyl inside and keeping the vinyl inside a dust sleeve. This dramatically cuts down on damaged inner sleeves caused by shipping and handling and will save you time and money in returns and complaints.

10” Direct to Board Single Jacket: Includes a single pocket design with a 3mm side spine. Our single pocket 10” jackets are printed on 15pt paperboard and come standard with a semi-gloss aqueous coating (see note above for other finish and customization options).

 7” Jackets

Disco Jacket: Our most popular jacket for 7” records, the Disco Jacket was designed to fit a single vinyl inside without a dust sleeve. These also double as a printed inner for our 3mm Spine Jackets.

Prints onto 10pt paperboard with a semi-gloss or matte finish standard.  You can also choose to printed on the reverse side of the board at no extra cost.

3mm Spine Jacket: Take your 7” release to the nest level with our spine jacket.  Fits your 7” vinyl inside a standard dust sleeve or the aforementioned Disco Jacket.

Prints onto 15pt paperboard with a semi-gloss or matte finish standard.  You can also choose to printed on the reverse side of the board at no extra cost.
